Team Spotlight - Suzanne Church

January 13, 2022

Today, meet Suzanne Church, Nlets’ Administrative Assistant. She has been with Nlets for over three years and shared her favorite part of working at Nlets (and so much more).

Q. What are the Primary Responsibilities of Your Role?

A. The bulk of my work is to support our Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) with all administrative items or additional HR tasks that she needs. I also oversee Nlets’ Officer Down donation program that provides financial support to the families of fallen officers. That typically includes reaching out to agencies to get contact information for the fallen officers’ families, putting together the condolence letters, working with accounting to get out a donation check, and mailing that to each family. Something that I love about my role is that every day is different: there is no ‘typical’, which keeps things always interesting.

Q. What is Your Favorite Part About Working at Nlets? Why?

A. My answer to that is twofold. One: I love the people that I work with. Everyone is extremely helpful, always willing to lend a hand, and happy to answer any question that I may have. Second, I strongly believe in our mission. I know that our ability to make sure that officers have the information they need at any given time is important not only to them but to the general public as well.

Q. When You’re Not at Work, What Do You Like to Do? Hobbies? Secret Talents?

A. My husband and I recently started getting into gardening. We have a couple of small planters in our backyard, and we are growing a variety of vegetables and herbs in them. As the season starts to warm up, we plan to get some additional planters and have an even larger garden.

Q. Why Did You Initially Choose to Work at Nlets? How Did You Hear About It and What Has Kept You Here?

A. I found out about Nlets on Indeed in a random job posting. I was initially super interested in the job itself, but as I learned more about Nlets, I found that the mission really intrigued me. When I met with Laura and realized what an amazing environment Nlets has for its employees (leading to some incredible employee tenures), it made me really interested in learning more about the company and becoming a part of it.
